Chelsea’s latest excursion into the transfer market has left many fans thinking this season’s title race is already a foregone conclusion.

Multiple Myeloma

In multiple myeloma, abnormal plasma cells (myeloma cells) build up in the bone marrow, forming tumors in many bones of the body. These tumors may prevent the bone marrow from making enough healthy blood cells. Normally, the bone marrow produces stem cells (immature cells) that develop into three types of mature blood cells:

1. Red blood cells that carry oxygen and other materials to all tissues of the body.
2. White blood cells that fight infection and disease.
3. Platelets that help prevent bleeding by causing blood clots to form.

As the number of myeloma cells increases, fewer red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets are made. The myeloma cells also damage and weaken the hard parts of the bones. Sometimes multiple myeloma does not cause any symptoms. The following symptoms may be caused by multiple myeloma or other conditions. A doctor should be consulted if any of the following problems occur:

1. Bone pain, often in the back or ribs.
2. Bones that break easily.
3. Fever for no known reason or frequent infections.
4. Easy bruising or bleeding.
5. Trouble breathing.
6. Weakness of the arms or legs.
7. Feeling very tired.

A tumor can damage the bone and cause hypercalcemia (a condition in which there is too much calcium in the blood). This can affect many organs in the body, including the kidneys, nerves, heart, muscles, and digestive tract, and cause serious health problems.

Other factors affecting prognosis

There are other factors that can affect your prognosis, apart from the stage of your cancer. One consideration is how well you are overall. Doctors call this your ‘performance status’. You may see this written PS. A score of 0 means you are completely able to look after yourself. A score of 1 means you can do most things for yourself, but need some help. The scores continue to go up, depending on how much help you need. This is relevant to survival because overall, the fitter people are, the better able they are to withstand their cancer and treatment. This is particularly important in myeloma because fitter patients can withstand more intensive treatment.

What is chemotherapy?

Chemotherapy uses anti cancer or ‘cytotoxic’ drugs to destroy cancer cells. They work by disrupting the growth of cancer cells. As they circulate in the blood they can reach cancer cells wherever they are in your body.

Chemotherapy by mouth

Your doctor is more likely to suggest treatment with tablets if you are aged over 70 or are not fit enough to have a stem cell transplant. You will usually have the chemotherapy drugs melphalan or cyclophosphamide. Doctors often give a steroid drug called prednisolone with this chemotherapy. So you may see or hear it called MP or CP.

Occasionally doctors use chemotherapy tablets as initial treatment for people going on to have a stem cell transplant. They might use the chemotherapy drug idarubicin (Zavedos) with steroids. This combination is called Z-Dex.

Bigdaddy, Google’s new data center, isn’t news to most webmasters; both Search Engine Watch and Webmaster World’s forums have discussed the technology since late 2005, and even Google’s own Chief Search Engineer Matt Cutts has blogged the topic extensively. Even the reason behind the naming convention (one of the Google staff’s kids call him Big Daddy at home) is out in the open.

How Bigdaddy will affect page rankings within Google however, still remains to be seen, although there is a lot of speculation floating around the Net. Mr. Cutt’s blog states that the new foundation will improve canonicalization, which is the computer code that tells a search engine that

are all the same web site. It is also reported that the data center will positively impact 302 redirects, which have been a known issue for some time.

What wasn’t anticipated with the update though were the chaotic and oftentimes strange behaviors the search engine has displayed, most notably over the past several months. Although some of Google’s previously-indexed sites dropping off the face of the engine may be associated with their reported lack of server space and others due to Google’s “different datacenters get different data at different times” statement, many of the problems seem surreal, without explanation.

For instance, Webmaster World’s forums have reported large SERPS drops, changes in supplemental result handling, “home page only” results and pages dropping right out of the Bigdaddy index, while the Digital Point forums are asking if Google has cleaned their index and why the supplemental problem is reoccurring.

What little information is available on the subject is only the information that webmasters are providing each other; little explanation is coming from Google themselves right now. Some experts have shown that the supplemental deletions across the data centers have been gradual over the past several months, with the idea that perhaps the supplemental results are being deleted to free up server space. Others have noticed the inclusion of longer URLs with multiple variables, such as database-driven pages (which were not previously indexed), and the product-based sites like BizRate and Amazon generating higher search results than previously found.

Right now, the only “fixes” seem to be either contacting a member of the Google team (most notably posting in Mr. Cutts’ blog), ensuring your website doesn’t fit within the “too similar” Google guideline (as it seems that sites with slightly different page text are doing better than most) or hitting up Google’s site for a re-inclusion request. Without more guidance from Google though, there isn’t much webmasters can actively do at the moment, other than sit back and watch Bigdaddy work out the search engine-retrieval bugs, talk over the situation with other webmasters, and stay as informed on the subject as possible.

If at any point you feel uncomfortable with the way someone is approaching you - do not be afraid of blocking that person and if you feel it merits a more severe action, simply click on the link at the bottom of every page on MySpace that says "Contact MySpace" and inform MySpace about the incident.

In conclusion, staying safe on MySpace involves following some basic guidelines and applying a good degree of common sense.

Honda has come up with the most amazing 4-wheel-drive system, not for off-roaders but to improve the handling and stability of fast cars. It is being used first in the new Acura RL (Honda Legend).

Why is it so advanced? This SH-AWD system has the potential to increase cornering power and cornering safety by leaps and bounds. It will be ideal for supercars as well as luxury coupes.(More information about super cars at http://www.fast-autos.com/supercars.html )

First, it allows the amount of power sent to the wheels to be varied from 30% front and 70% rear to 70% front and 30% rear. True, some other systems get near that, but this allows the system to adjust itself to completely different conditions. On top of that, it can alter the torque from zero to 100% to the left or right rear wheel.

In other words, all the power can one to the right wheel one minute, and if necessary can be reversed so that all the power goes to the other wheel in an instant. This might be needed in slushy or snowy conditions, where there was a patch of bare road for a bit on one side offering good grip, but a bit later on a bare patch on the other side.

In addition to those features, the outer rear wheel can be speeded up so that it goes faster than the inside wheel! All done continuously depending on conditions. A few years ago this would have considered desirable, but science fiction.

More power to the rear wheel for acceleration

Confused? Well, let's start with the front-to-rear power. When you accelerate, the weight of the car is thrown on to the back wheels by the force of acceleration, so you want more power to go to the back wheels - if it all goes to the front you get wheel spin. When cornering, you generally want as much or more power to the rear wheels. SH-AWD does that.

On the other hand, when you are cruising along, you want more power to the front wheels as this increases stability. SH-AWD also does that.

More power to outer rear wheel for better cornering

The side-to-side variation in power is used to improve cornering power and stability. For example, when you accelerate through a corner, extra power through the outer rear wheel counteracts under steer, letting the car corner on rails. In fact, stability control systems used on many cars now do this by reducing the amount of torque sent to the inner wheel - this means that you actually corner slower than you could do. SH-AWD lets you corner faster.

On the over-run, you don't need that, and less power is sent through the outer wheel for optimum stability. But that isn't enough because when a car corners, the outer wheels have to travel further than the inner ones - by 5-10% on very tight corners, so the outer wheel normally goes slower.

Honda overcomes this with some gears in the back axle gear set which actually drive the outer wheel faster when cornering! This improves maneuverability and cornering at low speeds.

Electro-magnetic multi-plate clutches

All this is accomplished by multi-plate clutches operated electro-magnetically - a world first - and the gear/clutch set used for acceleration. In fact, these gears also serve as the rear differential.

An advantage of the electro-magnetic clutches is that the electronic controller does not need to control a hydraulic actuation system as used normally but an electric actuator - this reduces cost and weight.

Is this the best thing since sliced bread? For the person who wants to have stability and control, and doesn't want to know what is happening to the car -yes. Such a system is bound to reduce the input the driver gets from the road.

He will be less aware of whether the surface is slippery, or whether the car is under steering more than usual because the SH-AWD system is correcting things all the time.

Microsoft’s next-generation operating system is coming in early 2007, offering improvements that are both impressive and unprecedented in the Windows world. On Apple’s side of the world, Tiger, the 5th incarnation of Apple’s legendary OS X operating system is still up to challenge as to what Vista has to offer, even if it’s already two years old.

Although Vista and Tiger are almost playing in the same field in terms of features and technology, there’s a major difference in the strategy that the two companies made in delivering their next-generation operating systems. Microsoft wanted to bring everything new and shiny to the table all in one big package, while Apple slowly built and perfected a world-class operating system by frequent, less dramatic, major upgrades. This explains why while Windows XP stayed for 5 years without a major upgrade, OS X had 3 major upgrades to its original incarnation in roughly the same time frame.

User Interface

The most noticeable improvements happen here, and rightfully so, since improvements in the user interface are the ones that affect the users first and foremost. Vista seems to have taken many pages from the Tiger book of slick features but also has some features of its own that’s missing from the Apple operating system. I think it’s fair to say that some similarities are really just inevitable end results of improving the current state of the UI in both platforms.

Vista’s icons are now as slick as its Tiger counterparts, supporting icon sizes of up to 256 by 256 pixels. Tiger on the other hand, currently supports only up to 128 by 128 pixel icons. But Vista takes it even further, using what is called as live icons. A live icon visually resembles the actual contents of the document it represent so that a folder’s live icon is shown as a folder icon padded with the thumbnails of the actual files that you’ll see inside the folder. This is very helpful in skimming through your files and folders without opening them. Tiger can only show previews of graphic files.

In Vista, the “My” way of naming user folders such as My Documents, My Music, etc. has been dropped. Now you will only have user folders named Documents, Music and Pictures. Not unlike what Tiger has.

Aero, the user interface of Vista brings to the Windows world lots of transparencies. Application windows in Vista show a translucent border that lets you see through it. This is a feature that OS X once had, but was taken out in Tiger.

Expose, which is perhaps the most innovative UI feature of Tiger, elegantly addressed the window-management problem most users had, especially those who work with lots of windows open. At the touch of a button or at a flick of the mouse, all your windows are miniaturized and smartly tiled across the screen. Vista offers its own take, with a feature called Flip 3D. In Vista’s version, windows are miniaturized and stacked on top of each other, and angled such that you can see enough of each window’s content distinctively, and you use the scroll wheel to go through all the stacked windows. Tiger’s implementation is more usable and convenient than its Vista counterpart.

Widgets vs Gadgets

In Tiger, the days of opening full-blown applications for simple, specific tasks have long been gone. Thanks to Dashboard. With Dashboard, you can install and run mini-applications called widgets that are specially designed (using a relatively easy language) for certain tasks. Widgets include calculator, stocks, dictionary, yellow pages and many others. At the touch of a button, all these can auto-magically appear when you need them, and as quickly, disappear to let you go back to what you’re doing.

Vista sports the same feature, only the mini-applications are called Gadgets, and the Vista version promises more integration with Microsoft’s online service http://Live.com.

Desktop Search

When Vista was first announced many years ago under the code name Longhorn, one of the most impressive promises that Microsoft made about the new operating system is its desktop search capability. However, Apple beat them to the punch in implementing the much needed search technology (and interface).

Tiger’s spotlight search won the hearts of analysts and reviewers when it debuted in October 2004. Both in the main OS’s shell and in the individual applications, Spotlight brought lightning-fast desktop search to the Apple users. The system-wide Spotlight item on Tiger’s menu bar provided a quick way of opening files and applications. With Spotlight, users didn’t need to know exactly where their files are since they can find and open them using a simple and single user interface – the spotlight search field. Vista’s desktop search also promises all the things that Spotlight has, including its integration with Windows Explorer and Control Panel, in the same way that Spotlight integrates with the Finder and the Preferences. In Vista, the desktop search has been placed in the improved Start Menu. Saved searches (in Vista) or Smart Folders (in Tiger) are different implementation of the same kind of innovative feature that both systems have – a way for creating folders that are defined by a certain search criteria, and the contents of which are files that match that certain criteria. Both are live-z.

Security

This is where Tiger has long beaten Windows, but with Vista, Microsoft want to change that, and perhaps even leapfrog what OS X is offering.

In Vista, Internet Explorer (the source of many security headaches) will run in a low rights mode to prevent malicious software entering through the browser from illegally writing files or changing the registry. Vista will also support computers with TPM (Trusted Platform Module) Chips which starts a computer in a secure way such that the hardware and applications are protected from being run by unauthorized users. One of Tiger’s security strengths, the feature that asks for the administrator password when changing critical preferences, has also found its way to Vista. When changing important settings or files, Vista now warns the users and asks for the administrator password. Both Tiger and Vista has support encrypting data on users’ hard disk.

Conclusion

This Post tried to compare some of the different aspects of Windows Vista and OS X Tiger, wherever it made sense, since each has its own way of doing things. Tiger has been out for almost two years now, but still holds up its own against Vista. It’s no doubt that some of the features that Vista is promising are better than its Tiger counterpart, but Vista won’t be out until 2007, and by the same time Apple probably would no doubt have at least shown its latest weapon, the upcoming Apple OS X Leopard.

Nothing is more exciting than the joy of expecting a baby! In fact many expectant mothers and fathers can’t simply wait to hear the sound of their child’s heartbeat. Today parents who can’t wait and parents who want to share the wonderful experience of listening to the beating sound can buy a baby heart monitor known as a fetal Doppler.

This feature is now available in 10 languages on a variety of Nokia phones including the N80, N70, N93, N71, and a number of other phones.

There are many great features on the Nokia N-series that it is hard to know where to start. There's the 3 mega pixel camera for starters which is really powerful for a phone camera combining fun, functionality and style in one, being one of the best-looking smart phones on the market today. Supporting Email client, internet browser, and Wi-Fi makes it a powerful business device as well. The sliding keyboard reveals the dial pad when opened which keeps the overall size of the N-series down. Unless you’ve been on vacation all summer, the brawl between Google and Microsoft should be old news. New developments, however, have occurred with publication of the non-compete agreement signed by Kai-Fu Lee.

Google v. Microsoft

Earlier this year, Kai-Fu Lee quit Microsoft to go work for Google. In doing so, Lee allegedly violated a non-compete agreement he had signed with Microsoft. Predictably, Microsoft sued Lee to prevent the move and the brawl began. Microsoft landed the first punch by getting a temporary restraining order preventing Lee from working for Google until the case is resolved.

Non-Compete Language

As matters have moved forward, the language in the non-compete agreement has become public knowledge. Generally, Lee agreed not to work for a major competitor of Microsoft if he left the company for a period of one year. The specifics of the language, however, are grossly entertaining

In signing the non-compete agreement, Lee agreed:

1. “…not to accept employment or engage in activities competitive with products, services or projects…of Microsoft…I worked on or …learned confidential or proprietary information or trade secrets while employed.”

2. All litigation arising from the non-compete agreement would occur in the State of Washington.

Mr. Lee and Google have a serious problem. California courts rarely enforce non-compete agreements, while Washington courts do. Since Microsoft sued first and Lee specifically agreed to Washington jurisdiction, this case should remain in Washington. Google is trying to move jurisdiction to California, but Microsoft beat it to the punch. Google’s attorneys simply blew it.

Prediction

Predictions in legal disputes are iffy at best, but Mr. Lee and Google have really fallen on their face in this one. Why they didn’t sue Microsoft in California court before Microsoft could react is mind boggling. The deck is now stacked heavily in favor of Microsoft and you can expect an outright victory for Microsoft or a settlement on terms set by the company.

A new message reveals itself whenever there is a change within our society or culture. This is the effect of a new medium. With this early warning, one can identify the new medium before everyone knows it – which could take months, years or even decades.

As Marshall McLuhan, many regard as the Prophet of the Electronic Age, reminds us, "Control over change would seem to consist in moving not with it but ahead of it. Anticipation gives the power to deflect and control force."

News of Google entering the payment arena broke in the third week of June 2005. This author’s article "Search Engine Wars – a Different Perspective", two weeks earlier, made some allusion to it.

Google and Yahoo plans to index all classified ads from online newspapers. Readers can easily draw some useful conclusions.

Hints from Mountain View suggest that if your site does not accept ads from you-know-who, your site’s rankings may tank. Readers can then deduce there are a limited number of popular keywords and with a growing list of ads, they have to find lots of Internet real estate (web sites) fast as outlets.

Does anyone notice that Google News favor a few European sites and a Middle-eastern site? Is politics also a criterion in rankings?

This author’s site received its PR ranking on Bastille Day, 2005. A day later, the ranking dropped a notch. This evidence clearly made nonsense of some Google’s spokesperson official statement the rankings are updated once in a few months. Perhaps, it is just another day from DMV (Drunkards of Mountain View) as Joe Nogood stated. [Shame on you if you have not read this master class (well, almost master class) tutorial on keywords and relevancy written with original jokes. The folks at Redmond and Sunnyvale voted it as the best article of the year – just joking.]

Yahoo and MSN correctly favored originating sites when it comes to ranking same documents like free-reprint articles. Google has different ideas on origin sites - maybe, there is some truth that its search engine runs on burgundy, brandy and so forth – their search engines on occasion becomes tipsy. Is Google really serious on promoting original content?

MSN is the fastest when indexing new documents. However, after a week, Google inevitably will catch up and index more documents than MSN. Does the MSN search engine runs on Iraqi oil?

Search engines are works-in-progress. Compare this to the history of Windows – 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 3.10, 3.11. WfWg, 95, 95OSR2, 98, 98SE, ME, XP and XP-SP2.

Content originality is of prime importance. Fine-tuning with optimized keywords can be done gradually. When search engines become more "human", your site does not need major surgery.

Google’s open-source / software patents dichotomy (contradiction) somehow doesn’t rhyme with their mantra of do-no-evil. This author would very much like to be proven wrong on this matter.

Do not fret over rankings. Intel has a PR10, yet when you search for "cpu" or "microprocessor", guess who never appear in the top 10. Doubtless any surfer can find Intel’s site even if Intel is given a PR of -2**256 (the decimal value for this number first appeared on the Internet in "A Gentle Introduction to Cryptography").

Consider getting more links as a priority through fair and legal means.

Nothing is more boring than a single item site. Consider adding variety like starting a community project, providing resources for your hobbies or pet issues. Getting visitors with similar interests to visit your site may pay dividends – some may become your customers.

Consider the possibility of exchanging links with your competitors – fair competition without rivalry.

Seasoned investors are familiar with “The trend is your friend”. Knowing the current trend is vital to search engines consultants, website owners and investors, especially those with their 401K’s and life savings invested in these companies.

Since this author’s last article, some noted events have transpired which deserve further comments.

Industry watchers should be well-versed with IBM and the seven dwarfs (Sperry, Burroughs, GE, CDC, NCR, Honeywell and RCA). In much less than a lifetime, these seven computer challengers became mere footnotes.

Then the mighty IBM had a few stumbles and finally surrendered the mettle to a young upstart from Redmond.

Microsoft reigned supreme in the 1990’s when it first introduced the Windows platform.

Are we to see to passing of the mettle to Mountain View when Bill G. recently commented that those guys (Google) are operating from a higher I.Q. level. This admission from Redmond given its brainpower assets is surprising.

Besides, Microsoft’s Office and Internet Explorer will embrace open standards like XML. Perhaps, Redmond could reseize the initiative, by declaring their crown jewels as open-source instead of surrendering bit-by-bit and thus see their once-mighty empire wither away into insignificance.

On May 31, 2005, Google announced its Summer of Code initiative to reenergize the open source community. The estimated $1 million outlay ($4500 for each successful applicant) is less than Google’s profit in two hours. From the chatter in various forums, this initiative will be a resounding success.

This is a foraging party’s raid involving about 200 young, fervent, energetic, idealistic cadres, excuse me, programmers. This is not what the powers in Redmond wanted to hear – the proprietary Windows platform will be under renewed siege.

One cannot but admire such deft application of Chaos Theory, best explained by the oft quoted example of a butterfly fluttering its wings in Peru and causing a tornado in Texas, a few months later.

Imagine the effects that will be unleashed when Google decides to increase this outlay by 100 times – an amount within normal R&D or business promotion expenditures for a typical company of similar size.

After reading Google’s corporate philosophy and history, anyone can be excused from feeling mesmerized by it. However, the phrase “collective consciousness in real-time” is, for lack of a better word, chilling.

When a search engine can feel the pulse of a country’s collective consciousness, the pollster’s relevance in society will suffer the same fate as the singing cowboys. The search engine can indeed be a presidential candidate’s best friend.

With hindsight, it is clear why the powers at Armonk and Redmond could not sustain their positions as leaders of the digital world. They could not define the new frontier with clarity nor communicate well to win the hearts of the masses. Instead, they cling on to monopolistic behavior typical of big, ugly, rude corporations of the conventional world.

In contrast, the weltanschaung (German word for world view) from Mountain View (pun intended) is refreshingly clear and easily understood.

People, please take a bow. Hail to the new king of the digital world in Mountain View.

For the record, this author does not own a single share in either company. He does not have any “Deep Throat” sources. Instead, he relies solely on his trusty RSS news feed reader. Google gave his site a #1 ranking for a particular keyword, MSN #8 and unknown ranking in Yahoo. Whether he is a Google-phile, a Microsoft-groupie or whatever, let readers be the ultimate judge.

1. It Doesn't Crash

Linux has been time-proven to be a reliable operating system. Although the desktop is not a new place for Linux, most Linux-based systems have been used as servers and embedded systems. High-visibility Web sites such as Google use Linux-based systems, but you also can find Linux inside the TiVo set-top box in many living rooms.

Linux has proved to be so reliable and secure that it is commonly found in dedicated firewall and router systems used by high-profile companies to secure their networks. For more than ten years, it has not been uncommon for Linux systems to run for months or years without needing a single reboot.

2. Viruses Are Few and Far Between

Although it is possible to create a virus to target Linux systems, the design of the system itself makes it very difficult to become infected. A single user could cause local damage to his or her files by running a virus on his or her system; however, this would be an isolated instance rather than something could spread out of control.

In addition, virtually all Linux vendors offer free on-line security updates. The general philosophy of the Linux community has been to address possible security issues before they become a problem rather than hoping the susceptibility will go unnoticed.

3. Virtually Hardware-Independent

Linux was designed and written to be easily portable to different hardware. For the desktop user, this means that Linux has been and likely always will be the first operating system to take advantage of advances in hardware technology such as AMD's 64-bit processor chips.

4. Freedom of Choice

Linux offers freedom of choice as far as which manufacturer you purchase the software from as well as which application programs you wish to use. Being able to pick the manufacturer means you have a real choice as far as type of support you receive. Being open-source software, new manufacturers can enter the market to address customer needs.

Choice of application programs means that you can select the tools that best address your needs. For example, three popular word processors are available. All three are free and interoperate with Microsoft Word, but each offers unique advantages and disadvantages. The same is true of Web browsers.

5. Standards

Linux itself and many common applications follow open standards. This means an update on one system will not make other systems obsolete.

6. Applications, Applications, Applications

Each Linux distribution comes with hundreds and possibly thousands of application programs included. This alone can save you thousands of dollars for each desktop system you configure. Although this is a very small subset, consider that the OpenOffice.org office suite is included as well as the GIMP, a program similar to (and many people say more capable than Adobe Photoshop); Scribus, a document layout program similar to Quark Xpress; Evolution, an e-mail system equivalent to Microsoft's Outlook Express; and hundreds more.

For the more technically inclined, development tools, such as compilers for the C, C++, Ada, Fortran, Pascal and other languages, are included as well as Perl, PHP and Python interpreters. Editors and versioning tools also are included in this category.

Whether you are looking for Instant Messaging clients, backup tools or Web site development packages, they likely are all included within your base Linux distribution.

7. Interoperability

More and more computers are being connected to networks. No system would be complete if it did not include tools to allow it to interoperate with computers running other operating systems. Once again, Linux is very strong in this area.

Linux includes Samba, software that allows Linux to act as a client on a Microsoft Windows-based network. In fact, Samba includes server facilities such that you could run a Linux system as the server for a group of Linux and Windows-based client systems.

In addition, Linux includes software to network with Apple networks and Novell's Netware. NFS, the networking technology developed on UNIX systems also is included.

8. It's a Community Relationship, Not a Customer Relationship

Other operating systems are the products of single vendors. Linux, on the other hand, is openly developed, and this technology is shared among vendors. This means you become part of a community rather than a customer of a single manufacturer. Also, the supplier community easily can adjust to the needs of various user communities rather than spouting a "one size fits all" philosophy.

This means you can select a Linux vendor that appears to best address your needs and feel confident that you could switch vendors at a later time without losing your investment--both in terms of costs and learning.

9. It's Not How Big Your Processor Is...

Because of a combination of the internal design of Linux and development contributions from a diverse community, Linux tends to be more frugal in the use of computer resources. This may manifest itself in a single desktop system running faster with Linux than with another operating system, but the advantages go far beyond that. It is possible, for example, to configure a single Linux system to act as a terminal server and then use outdated hardware as what are called thin clients.

This server/thin client configuration makes it possible for older, less powerful hardware to share the resources of a single powerful system thus extending the life of older machines.

10. Linux Is Configurable

Linux is a true multi-user operating system. Each user can have his or her own individual configuration all on one computer. This includes the look of the desktop, what icons are displayed, what programs are started automatically when the user logs in and even what language the desktop is in.

Ipods have become synomnous with music. However, with its 30 to 60 gigabytes, the iPod can handle more than just music. In addition to listening to your favorite tunes, you can also store up to 25,000 photos as well as 7,500 videos.

9. NBA 2K6

NBA 2K6 is rated E for Everyone, but it is a game that is highly popular among teenagers. At first glance, NBA 2K6 appears to be another sports game, but the reality is that it is so much more. In addition to playing basketball, it is the player's responsibility to generate extra income through product endorsements. BabesOfHollywood.com a celebrity web site focusing on beautiful female celebrities, today announced that Jessica Simpson has been named it’s 2006 “Babe of the Year”. The award, handed out annually by the web site, is designed to acknowledge the female celebrity who looked the hottest while still being newsworthy during the year. Simpson beat out fellow blondes Paris Hilton and Britney Spears as well as Lindsay Lohan. She also finished ahead of 2005 Babe of The Year, Angelina Jolie, who came in a close second thanks to her role in the celebrity international baby adoption trend.

For Simpson, this “award” comes at the end of a banner year where the singer and sometimes actress was forced to face her popularity alone for the first time post her divorce from boy band singer/sports fan Nick Lachey. Simpson created a consistent buzz on search engines, web sites and celebrity blogs throughout the year.

From an artistic standpoint, Simpson was at a creative low. Following her 2005 role as Daisy Duke in the film version of The Dukes of Hazard, Simpson took on her first leading lady role in the low-brow comedy Employee of the Month. At the time of its release in June, Simpson was rumored to be dating her Employee of the Month co-star, comedian Dane Cook who was also her co-host at the Teen Choice Awards. All of this while finishing up her divorce from Lachey. In August, the singer returned to focus on music with the release of her fourth album A Public Affair. Despite a star studded video for it’s title-track first single, which featured friends Eva Longoria, Christina Applegate, Christina Milian and Maria Menounous, the album has sold less than half that of her top selling album Irresistible. On the personal side, Simpson also had her struggles in 2006, including claims that she was dating and intimately involved with singer and musician John Mayer. Those claims were refuted by Mayer and left another embarrassing mark on the Simpson PR campaign. Making it especially painful were the news reports and photos of her ex-husband Nick Lachey romping around with MTV VJ Vanessa Minnillo.

Jessica Simpson’s most recent newsworthy moment came at the recent Kennedy Center Honors. During a performance saluting Dolly Parton, an influential (and fellow well-endowed) singer, Simpson was brought to tears following the performance. While initially the reason given was that the emotion of performing in front of an idol was too overwhelming, it turned out that the only thing too overwhelming was Simpson’s bust size. Apparently a near Janet Jackson-type wardrobe malfunction was to embarrassing for the pop-star.

Still, through all the ups and downs of the year, and all the press, paparazzi and media commentary, Jessica Simpson has weathered it all, and is certainly no worse for the wear. While her music and film careers may have there ups and downs, Jessica Simpson is still one of the internet’s most popular figures. And what a figure it is. Anyone who uses a computer on a regular basis has been faced with a 404 error message. This irritating little obstacle to our research or fun-search activities can be a bit of an irritation for most of us. The 404 error message commonly appears when we request a URL that the server does not have. For some reason, the server chooses to simply flash a 404 error message rather than providing us with the information that we need. All we know from the information provided is that the page has not been found. This is usually a default message that most Web servers return when someone requests a URL that the server does not have. This is not to suggest that the URL does not exist.

The 404 error message is in violation to basic rules for error messages in general, according to some of its critics. The critics suggest that the 404 error message needs to be written in layman’s terms so anyone who reads it understands exactly what has happened. Every time I have gotten one, I immediately thought that I made a mistake. Of course, the first thing we do when we make a mistake is re-enter the information just to be faced with another 404 error message. We may try again and again until we reach the number of entering the same information over and over again that makes us realize that it may not be entirely our fault.

Unfortunately, we usually check one more time just to be sure. The next step is to blame our source of information. We double check our source to make sure that we were given the right URL only to see that we were right. Filled with self-doubt, we go right back on to the server and enter the same URL again just to find a 404 error message staring right back at us.

We do all of this simply because the server broke a very important rule They need to make the error message clear as day for anyone using the server, not just the technically-savvy individuals who know not to waste time entering and re-entering the same URL over and over again. Sometimes it is the user’s fault but there is no way of knowing this through the 404 error message. The second rule the servers break is not specifying what the user has done wrong. The vague information usually leaves the server confused and irritated. It is annoying when you know that there is something wrong but you don’t know what it is.

The technology behind GPS systems can be complicated. However, a little research into what the various systems are and how they work can make choosing the right GPS system an easier decision. If you have looked into purchasing a GPS or owned a GPS system before then you probably have seen the term WAAS either on packaging or in ads for GPS systems.

WAAS stands for Wide Area Augmentation System. WAAS is an intricate GPS technology, which was developed to provide locations that are more accurate. This is done through GPS signal corrections attained through a network of ground stations and satellites. The stations and the satellites work together to create plots on maps so GPS systems can easily make this information available to the consumers that use these products.

WAAS is still being developed through the joint efforts of the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and the DOT (Department of Transportation). The reason the DOT and the FAA are developing WAAS is actually to make flight locations more accurate. WAAS works together with GPS because GPS does not currently meet navigational requirements of the FAA on its own.

At this time, WAAS is five times more accurate than the average GPS system technology. In fact, a GPS receiver with WAAS capabilities can maintain an accuracy of three meters or less over 90% of the time. Of course, the best feature of WAAS is that it is built in to certain GPS systems. This means there are no additional fees and you do not have to order any additional receivers or other equipment for WAAS to work correctly. Additionally, depending on the type of GPS device you own, you may be able to upgrade your GPS system to start using WAAS capabilities if it does not do so already.

GPS alone faces problems such as ionospheric disturbances, precision timing, and orbit errors for the satellites used. However, when used together with WAAS, these three main problems, as well as smaller errors in the GPS system are corrected. WAAS is also capable of providing information on the GPS satellite itself so there is never a question of whether the satellite is working to its greatest potential or not.

There are around 25 different ground stations, which WAAS uses as reference in the United States alone. The GPS satellite data is communicated to these ground stations so the information can be monitored. Then the information is compiled and sent to two master stations (one on the east coast and one of the west coast), which correct any errors in the GPS satellite information.

Corrections are made based on the orbit of the satellite, clock drift, and delays in the signal caused by the ionosphere and atmosphere of the Earth. After the corrections are made, the master station transmits this information to a geostationary satellite (one of two), which are located in a stationary position over the equator. Since the information is GPS compatible (the signal structure is the same) a GPS receiver with WAAS is able to read the signal from the satellite.

At the present time, only people in North America can use WAAS technology. GPS can be used in South America. However, WAAS will not work to correct accuracy errors. This is because WAAS enabled GPS receivers cannot receive signals due to the fact that South America has no ground stations. WAAS technology is constantly being tweaked and improved though, so in time it could become available across the world.

For now, it is best to use WAAS enabled GPS systems in open land or at sea. Since the stationary satellites are at the equator, it can be hard to receive the transmission if you are not close to the equator or if the signal is being blocked by mountains, trees, or other natural and man made objects that get in the way.

While WAAS technology is not perfect, it is much better than what is currently available. As the system improves, the accuracy will improve, making WAAS one of the leading technology systems for GPS receivers. Youtube, the most popular online video site, was recently acquired by Google for $1.65 billion ($1.775 billion once the deal closed since the deal was in Google stock).

Youtube had almost no revenue to speak of and was losing money. The bandwidth costs for an online video site like that are enormous. The site also has many lawsuits pending due to the fact that Youtube allows users to upload any video they like. Although users are told not to upload copyrighted video, that doesn’t stop them from doing it.

So what made a website that’s losing money worth $1.65 billion when Google already had its own competing video site – http://video.google.com? The answer is simply traffic. Youtube is, by far, the most popular online video site. Youtube’s traffic kept on growing while Google Video kept losing traffic.

Youtube did a far better job is building a community of users. Google Video required users to wait several days before their video was live. Youtube, on the other hand, gave users a link to their video immediately and was able to have their video live for them to view in less than an hour.

Youtube also took a cue from social networking sites and allowed users to add tags to their videos. Basically, the way Youtube ranked its videos was based more on how well the video was rated by users rather than by how well it performed according to a search ranking algorithm.

So did Google get a good deal from its purchase of Youtube for $1.6 Billion? That remains to be seen. Google has already set aside $200 million to fight and pay lawsuits due to the amount of copywritten material on the site and the amount of unhappy copyright owners.

One would have to assume that Google will be able to find a way to make Youtube a profitable site. After all, Google itself lacked a way to make money until it came out with Google Adwords. With more traffic to its network of websites, it makes sense that Google will continue to be innovative and solve the problem of monetizing its newfound traffic stream.

Numerous researches and surveys confirmed that:-

• Men are attracted to women by sight and all other feminine attributes take a back seat. So when a beautiful and attractive woman walks into a room, you can be sure that every male eye in the room will instinctively give her a top to toe glance unless of course that guy who didn’t happened to be gay. Some men will already be making mental plans how to chat her up or even taking her to bed.

• Women’s attraction to men is much more complicated. It is the total package that women will be looking for in a man. Good looks alone are not sufficient for a woman to fall head over heels with a man and sex is the last thing in her mind….erm….ahem …usually.

So what do women find attractive in a man? Well researchers surmised that the women’s maternal instinct will look for other attributes in a man besides good looks whether the women know it consciously or not. Some of these are that a man must be confident, must be able to communicate with her verbally and instinctively, must not be a wimp, must have the ability to protect her and her brood, have some quality traits to ensure that the best genes are passed on to her offsprings and a list of other features. Looking attractive is not at the top of the list or so the researches said

Did I say, looking attractive is not on the list? No, I did not. The gurus said so. Why do I disagree? Let me ask you another question. How many times have you heard a woman gushed “Ooooohhh…he is soooo gorgeous” or “Omigosh….Brad Pitt is sooooo handsome”? If that is not being attracted by attractive male good looks, then what is?

While I do agree that girls will ultimately bed or marry a man with many other qualities, an attractive looking man will still be a women magnet or at least during the first contact. How else can a girl get to know a man or are able to assess his other traits without getting to know him first? So the initial attraction is still a good looking male who is attractive to girls and women.

Do we agree now that men must look good to attract the girls? Now that we do, let us explore what physical features will make us attractive to women. We will not discuss facial features because we are stuck with it and nothing can be done except with surgery to reconstruct our face. That leaves us our male body of which we can sculpt and mould so that it is attractive to women.

Most women are not attracted to someone who is skinny or obese. This actually makes sense. A skinny man is instinctively perceived as too weak to protect her and an obese man too cumbersome to bring home the bread and may be prone to illneses. This compartmentalization may not be logical and are probably programmed in women’s primeval maternal instinct.

On the other extreme, most girls are also turned off by men with big huge muscles like those of professional bodybuilders. Reasons often repeated in surveys are that the couple will look unnatural. Normal human do not have such large muscles and therefore bodybuilders are intimidating. To make matters worse, many women whether if it is true or not declare that bodybuilders are narcissists as they spend hours and hours in the gym preening themselves so much so that they are insensitive to women’s needs and so are therefore selfish people. It may not be true, but then these are what women perceived bodybuilders to be.

That then boils down to this, the reasonably muscular and fit man with the following body features attracts women:-

• Broad Back and Chest – Denotes confidence. Projects a strong respectful posture and demeanor.

• Sexy Six Pack Abs - The man is not obese and also with the six pack abs, he is strong and therefore he is not like the skinny weakling. He is also perceived to be great in bed, which adds icing to the cake eh?

• Strong Arms and Shoulders – Able to sweep her off her feet and protect the young ones. Also perceived the man to be hardworking and capable of bringing bread and butter to the table.

• Perky and Strong Butt – Indication of athletic prowess. An ability to jump and climb powerfully. Also some sexual innuendoes are hinted here.

• Strong Muscular Legs – An indication of preparedness for fight or flight when the situation demands.

Still don’t believe me? Ask any woman why do they swoon over Brad Pitt in the movie Troy and you will get the same answers. Therefore the researches are right. What attracts girls to men is a package of many attributes. By owning a reasonably lean and muscular male body certainly embraces many of these traits which women find so attractive. So guys, when is your next gym workout?

Despite the relative tastelessness of kisses, they are usually referred to as sweet. Tasting of wine, strawberries and honey are some of the most common descriptions of lover's kisses, although some poets are more creative. For example, The Song of Songs says, "Thy lips drip as the honeycomb, my spouse: Honey and milk are under thy tongue."

The feeling of a kiss is also described in a multitude of ways, The pounding of the heart, quivering of the limbs, pain in the chest and quickening of the breath are some examples of this. The Persian poet Ha-fez, writes that he fears he will “char her delicate lips” when he writes of kissing his beloved.

The Babylonian goddess of love, Ishtar, was said to hold life in her mouth, offering spiritual delight to those who worshipped her. “That rarest gift, the honeyed kiss of love/ On earth, is sweeter bliss than gods enjoy,” she tells one of her followers.

Another example of the use of kisses as an exchange of life force or spirit is in the Egyptian legend of Osiris and Isis. When Osiris' jealous brother, Set, threw him into the Nile, his wife Isis searched for his body in the river and breathed life into him through a kiss.

The Renaissance saw a rapid rise in the view of kissing as an exchange of souls, and as an offering of the self to the other person. Allusions to kissing in poetry included an eternal kiss, a swoon that carried the couple almost to death, and most importantly, the diffusion of one soul into the body of the other.

Perhaps one of the most potent notions of kissing revolves around the belief in its life force and vitality. The Romans particularly believed that kissing a dying lover would keep the spirit in the body longer. Ovid, particularly, mourns that his wife will not be able to extend his life with her love because of his exile. Kisses could even follow the dead into the Underworld as a comfort to the shades of the dead.

The number-one question people ask us is, "What possessed you to move to Mexico?" The number-one answer we give is that we simply could no longer afford to live in America, so we found a country where we could, and moved there.

We found ourselves in a position not unlike many Americans: A major illness strikes, unexpectedly, and though insured and with incomes, the cost of funding the illness simply becomes too much. It becomes, essentially, impossible. We were not alone.

It turns out that more than 50% of bankruptcies filed in 2001 were medically related and were filed by middle-class homeowners who not only had an income but also health insurance. The prevailing myth that most bankruptcies are due to credit card debt is not true. Less than 1% of filed bankruptcies are due to credit card debt.

Researchers found that, in those surveyed, 1.9 to 2.2 million U.S. residents filed a “medical bankruptcy”. The average person filing for bankruptcy during the 2001 period spent $13,460 on co-payments, deductibles, and uncovered services even though they had private insurance.

"Our study is frightening. Unless you're Bill Gates, you're just one serious illness away from bankruptcy. Most of the medically bankrupt were average Americans who happened to get sick. Health insurance offered little protection,” said Dr. David Himmelstein, an associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School who led the study.

Another one of the study’s authors, Elizabeth Warren, said, “It doesn't take a medical catastrophe to create a financial catastrophe. A larger share of American workers are going to have insurance that's like a paper umbrella. It looks good, and it might even protect you in a sprinkle, but it melts away in a downpour.”

In the fall of 2002, we began to feel the sprinkle on our paper umbrella turn into an unstoppable downpour. We had to do something before the full brunt of the downpour tore the paper umbrella to shreds and our lives along with it. We began to look to other alternatives to purchase our prescription drugs and found them.

Other Americans are finding themselves in the same boat with not many options from which to choose. I was reading the other day where a married couple from Illinois sued the Federal government for the right to import prescription medications from Canada.

They lost. The judge dismissed the case. Maybe they should sell everything and move to Mexico as we did.

Moving to another country—one with a different language and culture—can offer many new challenges that can surprise you, shock you, and delight you. It takes a bit of getting used to, to say the least.

One such shock was the first time I got all my needed prescriptions refilled. I knew from our research to expect cheaper prices but I did not know how cheap!

I went to the ATM and secured a fist full of pesos then trudged onward to the Farmacia. They were helpful and cheerful but when they told me the total price, I had to re-ask, in my terrible Spanish, if they were sure of the price.

You see, I was able to get all my drugs refilled for the price of one, count it, one co-pay of a name-brand drug in America! I am not making this up. A month's supply of generic Prozac is less than $16.00 USD!

We stepped into a new reality where everything--prescription drugs, housing, utilities, food, transportation, entertainment--is 25-75% less than it is in America. My Social Security Disability income adequately covers our expenses here in Guanajuato, Mexico.

Moving to Mexico--an alternative for everyone? I doubt it. The solution? I don’t know. What I do know is that we, and many other Americans, cannot sit idly by waiting for our elected officials to work it out. We had to take action--drastic as it was.

That paper umbrella wasn't going to last long!

There's a war going on and the latest battle continues to offer the promise of good prices to consumers looking for the best stuff for their computer.

Since the inception of dual-core processors a little while back the race has been on to see who can get the better chip with this dual-core processor technology.

During the final days of the single-core battles, there was a stalemate between AMD and Intel. Intel's clocked higher but were unable to match the speeds that the AMD managed at lower clock speeds.

The oldest difference between them has been their suitability for specific tasks. AMD have had the gaming sector in the bag, especially in terms of the value for money possible with their lower clocked chips, which could be overclocked to the same speeds as their top models. Intel has the crown for general performance. When it comes to office related tasks, Intel processors are able to outperform AMD chips in these areas.

As the ability to clock the chips any higher became more and more difficult technically, the next step was to just add another core, theoretically allowing twice as much number crunching in a dual-core processor. This is not exactly how it works however.

Modern operating systems and programs have not been designed with multiple-core or dual-core processors in mind. They were designed to make use of one core on one processor. The major expense that went with multiple processor computers was the circuitry needed to split tasks up amongst the processors and sharing cache.

Dual-core processors simply act like two places for tasks to go. Instead of single tasks getting split up and performed in two different places, as is the case with traditional single core processors, single threads get split up amongst the cores. This essentially means that each program gets assigned to a core.

Because of this there is absolutely no increase in speed for gaming from dual-core processor chips. Only once the games themselves have been programmed to take advantage of dual-core processors will there be a difference. This is due to the intensive nature of games and the number crunching needed for intense graphics, which for now cannot be split over multiple cores in dual-core processors.

So back to the battlefield.

AMD were the first to introduce their dual-core processor solution to a desktop computer. This gave them a slight lead over Intel. Despite this, AMD gave people a bit of a surprise with their new offering.

Always having been renowned for giving far more than expected for the price, these new dual-core processors were very expensive. Part of what managed to give AMD a hold in a market previously dominated by Intel was their good pricing. This shock did not go down well with consumers.

To add insult to injury, Intel's dual-core processor offerings came in at remarkably good value. Both of their initial dual-core processors cost less than AMD's lowest priced model. That's right, AMD's cheapest dual-core processor cost more than Intel's most expensive. This definitely put the ball in Intel's court and was downright disappointing for AMD fans.

AMD did manage to introduce a cheaper model to compete better with the Intel offerings. Despite this, Intel was still the forerunner in this area.

Performance remains an area that is sketchy.

With the relatively new technology involved it is hard to draw a clear conclusion on who is faster. With operating systems only recently oriented towards fully utilizing dual-core processor technology, it is still new territory. Both offer increased performance, but as to who will rule the roost, we'll have to see.

For the meantime it would probably be advisable to just watch. Being a cautious buyer I prefer to buy into a sure thing, once things have settled down, prices will balance out and all the related technology will be in place. Then we will be able to get a true opinion on where to put your hard earned cash.

Finally, they’re all here. The Xbox 360 has had the next generation gaming market to itself for a year. Now its two competitors, the Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii, are here. No more speculating about speed. No more guessing about memory. Now we can take a look and see exactly how they stack up compared to each other.

Let the console wars begin again.

Price
The PS3 has two configurations much like the Xbox 360. The PS3 comes in a $499 version that comes with a 20 GB hard drive and a $599 version that comes with a 60 GB hard drive; Wi-Fi; and memory stick, SD, and Compact Flash slots.

The Xbox 360 has two configurations. It comes in a $299 core version and a $399 version that comes with a 20GB hard drive.

The Nintendo Wii is the cheapest of the bunch with just one configuration that costs $250.

Processing Power
The Playstation 3 comes with its Cell processor. It’s a PowerPC based core that runs at 3.2 GHz that also have seven DSPs that run at 3.2 GHz. This configuration can do about 2 Teraflops.

The Xbox 360 has a Custom IBM PowerPC processor. This processor also runs at 3.2 GHz. However, Xbox went with a true 3 core processor compared to the one general processor of the Cell and seven additional DSPs. This configuration can do about 1 Teraflop.

The Nintendo Wii includes its Broadway processor, a PowerPC based processor running at 729 MHz.

Disc Media
Part of the reason the PS3 is so much more expensive than the Xbox 360 is because the Sony decided to include a Blu-ray drive on the system. The drive can play both Blu-ray movies and regular DVDs. The Xbox 360 comes with a DVD player and an HD-DVD add-on is planned. The Nintendo Wii uses a DVD drive; however, the system will not work for playback of movies, just Nintendo games.

Backwards Compatibility
The Playstation 3 is just like the PS2 was. You’ll be able to play both PS2 and PSone games on the PS3. Nintendo is taking things a bit further. Their system will be compatible with the Gamecube games and also the Gamecube controllers since the two systems use very different controllers. Not only that, but the Wii will also have the ability to download games from the original Nintendo (NES), Super Nintendo (SNES), and the Nintendo 64.

Sweet Features
If you want high definition gaming, then the PS3 is the way to go. It comes with a Blu-ray drive built in and can output in 1080p. Although the PS3 controller may look familiar, it’s had some updates. The controller is now motion sensing so in some games you’ll be able to move your character or fly a plane just by moving the controller.

The Xbox 360 was built to work with Windows XP media center. If you have a computer that already has media center on it, you’ll be able to view pictures, videos, and even recorded TV by using your Xbox. You won’t need to put your PC in your living room to take advantage of having a Media Center PC.

The Nintendo Wii decided to completely change the way gaming controllers are built. In the past, one controller was always held with both hands. The Wii’s controller looks more like a TV remote control than a game controller. It has a built in motion sensor so, for example, to swing a sword, you simply move you hand just like you were really swinging a sword.

Hopefully this review has helped you compare the three next generation gaming systems. Each has its pluses and minuses, and feature that are unique to it. Ultimately, your decision will likely come down to which system has the games that most appeal to you. And that is a decision that only you can make when deciding on a system to buy.

The price for the new Nintendo Wii is quite competitive to say the least. In fact, the word competitive does not do this system any justice. The bottom line is that the Wii beats the competition in price across the board. If you are in the market for one of the newer gaming systems there is no better option than the Wii. Of course you can opt for another like the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360, but if you do this you will have to pay as much as $300 more. Are you willing to do this for a system that many believe is not better than the Wii?

In September 2006 Nintendo began to release information about the seventh generation gaming console known as the Wii. Many people may have been surprised to learn at that time that the Wii is being priced at the low cost of $249.99. To the amateur gamer or somebody who is not in the know, $249.99 may seem like a lot of money; and for good reason. But when you look at Wii prices compared to those of other systems you will be happy that you are interested in what Nintendo has to offer. A new Microsoft Xbox 360 will set you back about $400, whereas the Playstation 3 is being price at $600. So for less than half the cost of the newest Playstation you can pick up a brand new Nintendo Wii.

In addition to the price of the console itself, there are also a few other Wii prices that you should be aware of. For example, a Wii remote is going to set you back approximately $40. Also if you want to purchase accessories such as nunchuks you will have to shell out $20. The games that are compatible with the Wii will cost $60 on average. Yes, this is a bit much, but with the newest features and graphics it is safe to say that it is well worth the money.

It is obvious that Wii prices are among the best in the industry. And there is one thing that you are probably forgetting in all of this pricing excitement. That being the fact that the Wii is supposed to be able to hold its own against the other gaming consoles that are available. So what situation is better for you? Spending $600 on a new system, or being able to get the same thing for only $250? It is safe to say that if you are a consumer you are going to opt for the one that costs hundreds of dollars less.

Overall, Wii prices are something that the industry should be excited about. In today’s day and age of technology it is easy for manufacturers to get carried away when it comes to pricing. The fact of the matter is that Nintendo could have easily gotten away with pricing the Wii at $300 or more. But instead of doing this they wanted to stay true to their roots and offer a gaming system that is top notch, for a price that the majority of people could justify spending.

Technology moves so fast these days. By the time you've bought a pc it's guaranteed that most of the parts will be out of date within a few months. This can also depend on where you buy your pc from as well. A lot of companies sell pc packages that can seem like good value for money at the time. They bundle a printer, scanner and other add-ons with your pc, but then you find out that you're spending tons of cash on ink, your pc is too generic and not good enough for what you want to use it for, gaming!

If you drop by your local “best buy” or “pc world” to look for a new pc to play the latest games then you're going to run in to problems. A lot of gamers these days make or at least customize their own pc's from scratch. Why? Because they know what's needed to run these games.

90% of pc's today that are sold through those types of stores in packages are aimed at the average “I want a pc so I can surf the net, play music and watch dvd's” consumer. These pc's are acceptable for those needs but if you want to play the latest games then you haven't got a chance of getting them to run to their necessary requirements.

Too many time's I've seen people go out and buy a brand new pc, try to go online and play a new game such as “Battlefield 2” or “Quake 4” and find out that the game runs bad even on the lowest settings. They then end up spending twice as much on a pc by having to buy a new one from scratch or upgrade a lot of the parts because they've made the mistake of buying an “e-Machine” in the first place.

So you have an old pc you want to upgrade so you can play the latest games. The main components you will need to look at for upgrading are :



Motherboard
Power supply (PSU)
Processor (CPU)
Memory (RAM)
Graphics card
Sound card

I put them in this order for the below reasons although some people may disagree with me.

The motherboard is the main component in your pc as it ties all the other components together. You can buy the best CPU and graphics card and sound card, but if your motherboard stinks then they aren't going to be able to work to the best of their abilities.

The power supply is extremely important. If you can't get enough power to the rest of the parts in your pc then nothing will work properly and in some case, they won't even work at all. You can pick up a cheap power supply for about $20 but normally with technology these days, you get what you pay for. If you intend to have a top notch graphics card and powerful CPU in your pc then you need a good quality power supply that is stable and capable of powering all your pc's parts effectively.

The CPU (central processing unit) is the heart of your pc. If you have a slow CPU but the best graphics card and motherboard then your CPU will hold back the other components in your pc.

Your computer's memory is just as important as the CPU. This will be used to store and transfer the data on your pc fast and if you have bad, slow or not enough memory then it's going to slow the rest of your pc down.

The graphics card is extremely important in today's games. If you can't render the graphics fast enough then you'll experience lag and slow down in your games no matter how good the rest of your pc is. Most “bundled” graphics cards are built on to the motherboards in packaged pc's and share the actual system memory. This is BAD for gaming!

The sound card isn't as important as the rest of the components but it can help your pc perform better. If you have a stand alone sound card, it takes some of the workload off of your cpu and motherboard and a lot of today's best sound cards even have their own special sound system that is used by a lot of new games.

Obviously if you want to be able to play the best games on the market and if you play competitively online then you want to be able to play to the best of your abilities and not have to worry about your pc not being able to handle the needs of today's games.

It can be expensive but there are easy ways for you to upgrade on a budget. Maybe if you're thinking of upgrading now then you should go ahead but even starting to look for the best parts to upgrade your pc can be a daunting task.

Personally when I'm upgrading I never go for the very top of the range. You don't have to buy the best (as you know it's going to be going down in price dramatically in the next few months) but you can still get some great pc hardware for good prices that will run those games without any slowdown and still make them look and feel great to play.

One bad link in the chain will hinder your computer's performance. When you want to upgrade or even buy a new pc you must ensure that each part is as good as the others to get the best performance and stability for any type of computer tasks.

The 21st Century Christmas is nothing like it was 50 years ago. Today, Christmas has lost its true meaning. People spend endless amount of hours shopping for that one special gift with one purpose in mind. Giving and receiving gifts have lost their sentimental value and Christmas has become one big retailer's party.

The traditional Christmas season fifty years ago was more spiritual than commercial. People actually cared about "Good Will" and gave of their time instead of their pocket book. Kindness meant something more and people were not afraid of offending one another. The Christmas season fifty years ago turned the World into a happier place.

It was a tradition to shop for your Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving as a family. Dad would head-up the outing with an axe in one hand to chop down the tree, and ties in the other to secure it on the car. Mom would make a thermos full of hot coco and make sure all of us were bundled up warm. The day was spent singing Christmas chorals and hunting for that special tree. At home, we decorated the tree with popcorn garland, home-made ceramic ornaments, and lights. The time together made us all warm and fuzzy inside.

In the days that followed, our parents would tell us stories of the true meaning of Christmas. Our focus was taken off of receiving gifts and placed on giving to other and putting them before ourselves.

Today, instead of a family outing the day after Thanksgiving for a tree, we now spend it in lines that go on for ever at ungodly hours of the morning just to get the best deal. Even Saint Nick is nothing more to our children then a man in a red suit.

I submit to you that we need to put a little bit of Ozzie & Harriet and Normal Rockwell back into our Christmas season. Don't let the stress of day-to-day life distract you from the magic of the season, and take the time to add some magic and goodwill of your own.

And remember, as much as (and I say this as a representative of a toy store!) we love your business, Christmas isn't about shopping. It's about family, and friends. It's about people. It's about all of us, together.

And for those of you who don't celebrate Christmas, you're still part of the family -- we're all here together on this earth. May everyone have a happy, healthy and safe holiday season.

Due to a revolutionary procedure, an entirely new species of human is now afoot on the earth – neither all male nor all female. And people who have undergone the procedure seem delighted.

A mostly female member of the species confided, “When you become a new species, it changes your whole outlook. I’m no longer really flamingly female or, for that matter, flamingly male. It makes me really happy. ”

“I’m an early adapter,” a mostly male person who had undergone the procedure told us. “As a result, I often feel ahead of my time, but, wow, when I come across another person who has gone through it, we really hit it off.”

Another primarily female incarnation of the remarkable development confided, “When you become a third species, it changes your whole outlook. I’m no longer really agressively female and certainly not rabidly male.”

What exactly is this revolutionary procedure?

We spoke with Dr. Emil Changemaker, the founder of the technique, and asked, “We understand you’ve created a new species of human being. Can you please elaborate?”

“Happy to oblige. First, this sex change operation requires no surgery.”

“It doesn’t?” we asked, surprised.

“No, the change occurs, not between the legs, but between the ears.”

“Oh, between the ears?”

“Exactly,” he confirmed.

“Please, go on.”

“Well, you see, until now, we had human types that are pretty much all male and all female. Of course, there have been a few exceptions, but not enough for most people to notice.”

“And now?” we inquired.

“Oh, thanks to the technique, there are quite a few more.”

“I see. As the world’s leading expert on the subject, how did you manage to create a new species?”

“Me? I didn’t have anything to do with it.”

“You didn’t?” we asked, a bit taken back. “Excuse me, if you didn’t have anything to do with it, why are you the founder of the technique? You see, we never heard of a founder who didn’t have anything to do with what he founded.”

“Oh, I founded it just because I saw it happening and I brought it to people’s attention, first to my family, then to some friends. Next, I wrote an article. Then a book. Now, I’m working on a video.”

“Well, it sounds as if you’re doing the usual things a founder does. What did you see happening?”

“Well, I saw this third species evolving.”

“The one that’s neither 100% male or 100% female?”

“Exactamundo!” he exclaimed.

“Why is it evolving?”

“Primarily, because it’s time, actually way past time, I think, for the new species to make its appearance.”

“Why is that?”

“Well, when you just had the overly male types or the overly female types, you had one side being really macho and the other side tipping toward being ultra feminist. So they had a hard time inhabiting the earth together, let alone the same bedroom. And happily married? Tough hoe to row, I mean, a tough row to hoe. I’ve been through it and just the thought discombobulates me.”

“What about the new species?”

“The most welcome development you can imagine.”

“Why is that?” we asked.

“Because when this species evolves, you no longer have the snarling pro macho type or the rabid feminist type.”

“What do you have?”

“Well, basically, you have a person.”

“A person? That’s the third type?”

“Please, don’t underestimate what I’m saying. This is a real big deal, the most welcome development you can imagine.”

“What is so special about this new species of person?” we wanted to know, determined to corner him.

“Well, it’s a person who advocates people’s rights.”

“People’s rights?”

“Right! It’s an evolution that leaves the purebred brute or feminist back at the orifice of the allegorical cave. You don’t advocate the superiority of men or the superiority of women. You don’t even advocate equal rights for either.”

“Not even equal rights?”

“Certainly not, because the very act of advocating equal rights assumes there’s an inequality. It’s a self-propagating prejudice. Nobody advocates equality when it exists, do they?”

“Well, that’s interesting. So when you advocate people’s rights, there’s no inherent or implied prejudice?”

“Correct! I’m talking about a species that’s comfortable just being human – not as an overheated new advocacy but just as an easygoing assumption. Of course, the species is still very much aware that there are two halves of the human race.”

“That hasn’t changed?”

“No, just the way they think of each other – in the whole rigmarole together, peaceful partners, except for a little of the inevitable pot throwing that even equals can’t always avoid, especially men and women. It solves a lot of problems, in the outside world and in the home, downstairs and upstairs.”

“Hmm, I imagine it would. What do you think the future holds for this new species?”

“Well, it’s like all evolutionary developments. You never know if the new excrescence of the gene pool will flourish, or perish because of the pressures exerted by the more established species. My hope is that it will enlarge its presence and, perhaps over time, entirely replace the previous incarnations.”

“Wow, when this interview began, I never would’ve suspected.”

“What’s that?” he asked.

“I’m actually a member of the new species.”

“You are?”

“Well, at least, I like to think so. And I bet a lot of people who are fans of NewsLaugh didn't realize they’re part of a new species until they read this interview.”

“How long have you been a member?” he asked.

“Oh, I went beyond advocating one side or the other a long time ago. I think of myself as just a happy-go-lucky, ducky and whatever person.”

Violin

You, as a golfer, can practice to keep and maintain balance effectively if understand the basic principle about these balancing theories


1. Rules of the centre of gravity


According to the principle, the centre of gravity will change if position of the body is changed (movement), for example if we lift an arm up overhead, the centre of gravity will also be lifted up. If we lift the left arm, the centre of gravity will be changed to the left and if lift an arm up and point to the front, the centre of gravity will be changed to front also. So when you are approaching, try to bend down you knees a bit in order to the balance and stability.

2. Size of basement

The wider basement, the more stable. Therefore, for approaching to tee off, you should keep stretching out your legs a bit wider in order to maintain the balance. However, unlike tee off approach. You can stand normally for shifting and putting because these approaches require less movement.

3. Relation between the centre of gravity and basement

The more of the centre of gravity close to the middle point of the basement, the less chance to lose the balance. When taking back swing, do not transfer the weight of the body to the right side by moving the whole body, instead, try to turn only shoulder and hip. By doing this way, the centre of gravity will also be move to the back side but less movements needed, as a result, we can maintain the balance and we will try to keep the centre of gravity still be on the basement as much as we can.

4. Your weight

This theory is all about the total mass of the body that affect to the ability to maintain the balance. Person who has more weight and active muscles will be able to maintain the balance better than those who has lighter weight.

5. Momentum and External circumstances

If you are playing in bad weather, especially in strong wind from the front tacking against yourself. You may adjust your approaching by a bit lean forward to maintain the balance

6. Friction

Friction is the most important factor that affect to the balance of the body during movement. Generally, the less friction, the less ability to control the balance. From this theory, please make sure that your golf shoes are in good condition because good shoes will increase friction with the green’s surface so it will help you to control the balance during take a shot.

Condoms, jimmies, rubbers…you might think you’ve heard them all. Condoms are one of the world’s most common prophylactics. Here are 5 things that you might not otherwise know about condoms and their names.

1. English Nicknames

One of the most known nicknames for condom is rubber. However, if you go to a convenience store in Australia or New Zealand and ask for a rubber, you will be handed an eraser. This could make for awkward moments for Kiwis or Aussies traveling abroad who just want to erase a mistake: “Could I have a rubber, mate?”

Other English nicknames include jimmy hat, raincoat, or hazmat suit: a suit you don for dealing with hazardous materials. The term “love glove” led to the famous safe sex slogan “No Glove, No Love.”

2. International Nicknames

English isn’t the only language that had odd nicknames for condoms. In Denmark, they are called gummimand, which literally means “rubberman.” In Germany, they are called lummeltute, or “naughty bags.” Hungarian terminology emphasizes the protective aspect by calling a condom an ovsver, or a “safety tool.” Hong Kong similarly demonstrates the protective value by calling a condom a pei dang vi, or a “bulletproof vest.” In Portugal they call condoms “Venus’ shirts” or camisa de Venus: remember, Venus is the goddess of love after all, so it makes sense!

Other countries can be more literal with their meanings: in Nigeria, a condom is an okpuamu, or a “penis hat.” In Indonesia, instead of a hat, it’s a “penis gourd” or a koteca.

In English a condom is sometimes called a raincoat: in Greek it is sometimes called a kapota, or an overcoat. In Spain, a condom is called a globo, or balloon. Remember, although you can use a condom for a balloon, you can’t use a balloon for a condom!

3. National Tensions

Some nicknames of the condoms demonstrate international tensions. In Germany, a slang term for a condom is a “Pariser,” or a Parisian. In English, condoms are sometimes called French Letters. Why is France associated with condoms? This might be because other countries associated all that was decadent with France.

As a side note, a French Letter will protect you against the French Disease; or, to put it more plainly, a condom will help protect you against syphilis. Syphilis was called the French Disease because of the outbreak in the French Army in the sixteenth century; it was the Italians that coined that phrase (morbus gallicus).

The French, however, might have gotten their linguistic come-uppance with their terminology. The French called syphilis “la maladie anglaise,” or the English Disease. They even called it the Italian disease or the Neapolitan disease too. Other countries were equally derisive, with the Arabs calling syphilis the English disease and the Russians calling it the Polish disease.

Although most nationally-derogatory terms for syphilis are now in the past, the French still call condoms “la capote anglaise,” or the English raincoat.

4. Condom, France

Yes, there is a town in France called Condom. As far as linguists know, it has nothing do with the etymology of the word condom. There is a folktale that the English got their word condom from this location. English travelers came and saw French farmers sewing prophylactics from sheep guts. Whether or not this is true, you can still get sheepskin condoms (made from sheep intestines). They are softer than latex or polyurethane condoms and increase sensation. However, sheepskin condoms do not protect against sexually transmitted diseases, they simply work to prevent pregnancy.

5. The Real Origins of the Word Condom

Unfortunately, we don’t know the real origins of the word “Condom.” Was it named after a Dr. Condom, or a Dr. Quondam, as some tales tell? Is it named after a British army officer, Cundum? Or is it named after the Italian court adviser, Gondi? (A “gondon” or “goldoni” is another word for condom in Italy).

Whatever the origins of our word condom, and whatever you choose to call it, wear a condom. Condoms prevent unwanted pregnancies and prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.

Even though the new Sony ps3 does not hit shelves until mid November, consumers have known about the price for quite some time. The fact of the matter is that since Playstation has been such a big hit among consumers, Sony knows that they can charge an arm and a leg each time that they release a new console. For this reason, ps3 prices are among the highest in the gaming industry. You will have to shell out $499 at the very least if you want to buy a new ps3 when it is released in November. This is several hundred dollars more than what the competition is charging.

There is one very good reason as to why ps3 prices are so high. The simple explanation for this is that Sony can get away with it. As long as there is a huge demand for the new system and the hype is just as high, there will always be people who are willing to pay high prices for the new ps3. Does this mean that ps3 prices are legitimate? Well, this depends on who you ask. If you speak with somebody who only buys and plays on the Playstation systems, they will tell you that you have to pay big time money if you want to get the best of the best. But on the other side of things, if you speak with somebody who has a more open mind (or a smaller budget), they will tell you that ps3 prices are way out of hand. After all, you can buy the new Nintendo Wii for $250. This is half of what you will have to pay for a ps3.

In addition to ps3 prices being high at retail locations, the second hand market will also be booming. Do you remember what happened with the Microsoft Xbox in 2005? Since there was such a high demand for these units they began to surface on eBay for twice as much as the suggested retail price. Is this going to happen with ps3 prices? There is no way of saying for sure, but the fact of the matter is that there is a very good chance that this is going to happen. So as you can see, if you are not lucky enough to pay $500 at the store, you may have to expand your wallet a bit and splurge on the second hand market.

ps3 prices are among the highest in the industry. But with that being said you do get a high level of benefits for the money that you spend. Sure, ps3 prices are much higher than the competition, but you need to decide if this is something you are willing to deal with. If it is, you might as well get started and be in position to get a unit when they are released in stores. And if this does not work out for you, you can always pay a bit more on eBay.

But here’s the catch—if they are really and truly good girls, you’re really going to have to work hard to earn the right to deflower them and make them another one of your conquests. Fighting viruses and getting rid of them is big business right now. The first step is knowing just what the enemy is.

THE ENEMY - Hackers and Crackers

Computer geeks say that there is a difference between hackers and crackers. Crackers do damage to systems they break into while hackers just want to see how everything works. We'll use the more common term of hacker. Originally the term hacker was someone who made furniture with the use of an axe.

A virus is "malware" for your computer. This is a term that covers all kinds of software that is malicious. The most common types of malware are Trojans, worms, and viruses.

VIRUSES

Viruses are often hidden inside of other programs, for example installation programs that arrive to you through email attachments. When you run this host program the virus is executed. When the virus is in your computer memory it will be able to do a lot of damage such as infecting other computer programs.

Once the infection phase of the virus is complete the next stage begins: the destructive phase. Viruses will wait for a certain trigger, such as a date or the number of times that the virus has been copied, before the payload is delivered. The payload can be as simple as messages all the way to the deletion of files to the destruction of your operating system.

When viruses were first created they were often distributed on a floppy disk. As the Internet has grown, email and file downloads are the best way for viruses to be passed. Email can have attachments that can contain any type of computer file. Executable files can be loaded with viruses and therefore you shouldn't run them unless you're sure that they are virus free.

WORMS

Worms are much like viruses because they are self-copying. They can reproduce across multiple networks without human aid, such as through the sending of emails. Worms, however, don't need an executable program in order to be passed along.

A worm can affect a computer network more than it can infect computers that are on that network. Because they self-copy they can overload the resources on a network. This can cause slow downs in the speed of data transfers by using a large amount of bandwidth...more bandwidth than is needed for normal network traffic. Any network that routes traffic on the Internet is simply known as software and hardware that is specialized. Both software and hardware can be bothered by malware.

A worm can be created to carry payloads by using an installation program through the backdoor. A backdoor is an access point into the computer that is hidden. The worm uses the backdoor and ignores the usual procedure for login. Backdoors are often used by spammers so that they can send junk email.

TROJAN HORSES

A Trojan horse is another kind of malware. A Trojan horse is a computer program that acts as though it will do one thing when it will actually do something different. This term comes from the story of Troy, a city which was deceived by the Greeks to get into the inner city undetected. A Trojan horse can't replicate itself the way viruses and worms can.

A Trojan horse can be hidden in software that is otherwise useful. When a Trojan horse starts it can do such things as corrupt files, install backdoors, erase data, and keep track of keystrokes. This information will enable hackers to steal your personal information such as passwords and credit card numbers.

COMBATING MALWARE

In this series we will talk about what you can do to fight malware. Until then it's important to just be passive and not expect that your computer problems will be taken care of by someone else. Combating viruses needs the involvement of users, webmasters, and software vendors.

As you may or not be aware, some search engines search for exclusive, specific or rare content. They look for content on your site that is not available from other sources and once they find it they then rate your pages accordingly. The beautiful thing about blogging is that your content does not have to be long or elaborate in order to get across a unique, point or piece of information that will impress the search engine. In fact the basic structure of your log should consist of about two hundred and fifty words of commentary and server who link or two to some interesting sites (including something on your own!)

There are individuals who write longer blogs but instead go to other sources on the web and rewrite articles that they have found. The problem with this tact is that a search engine spider may be able to note if it has seen this type of information before and not rank your blog page very high.

It is also a good idea to lure the search engine spiders by adding material frequently to a blog. When you continually refresh material it keeps them coming back. For instance if you have a 1200 word article on search engine optimization you would like to post on a blog you are better off to divide that article into 400 word pieces and have each of them discussing a different virus. Dividing longer articles into shorter pieces is a way of making the most of its marketing potential.

It also helps if you think of your blog as having a specific goal or purpose that it must achieve. This is what will possibly make your exclusive content different then any other type of information that the search engine spiders and robots may have run across while searching for material to index. The more focused your goals are the more unique your blog content is likely to be.

Introduction

Due both to the stigma and the awareness program attached with it, now AIDS has become a common household term. There are very less people who actually know that the exact word is Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, AIDS in short. Because of the morbidity and mortality attached and also because of the ignorance about it there are lots and lots of myths against this deadly disease. This alone shows the anxiety and concern of the general mass.

History

The virus for this disease is thought to have transmitted from simian monkeys in the forests of Africa to humans and from there it traveled to USA and different countries. It was brewing in the bodies till in 1981 in USA the Center for Disease Control and prevention (CDC) recognized it for the first time and reported that there was an unexplained occurrence of an unusual pneumonia in a few homosexuals. Soon the disease was to be found in intravenous drug users. But it was only in 1983 that the causative virus was isolated from a patient and then further classified. Obviously because of the ignorance initially the information was confined to only certain specific institutions in the early 1980s. Then as the disease became more prevalent and showed its mortality pattern more and more people became aware of this disease. Today it’s a topic of concern for every type of doctor be it a family physician, obstetrician, dentist, dermatologist or any other field.

HIV and AIDS

AIDS is a disease, as the name suggests, in which the person over a period of time loses his power of immunity to fight infections and hence he is a prey to a host of infections which otherwise wont have occurred. The causative organism is a virus called the Human Immunodeficiency Virus. On gaining entry into the body of a subject through another patient’s body fluids such as blood, blood products, semen, etc. the virus remains in the lymphatic system and gets replicated. Then over a period of years it reduces the body’s immune system.

The problem is so severe that according to CDC, till 2003 the number of AIDS cases in USA are 1.2 million and the number are still increasing and 40,000 new cases get infected each year in whole of USA.

There are many different diseases associated with this disease ranging from all types of bacterial infections to viral infections and other protozoal and helminthic infections.

Management

The disease is managed by a whole lot of drugs because of the inability of the scientists to develop a vaccine against it. The drugs against it are basically divided into two types. One type prevents against the possible development of the potential bacterial, viral and helminthic infections and the other group helps in the killing and preventing replication of HIV. The first group has drugs such as trimethoprim sulfamethoxazole, clarithromycin, amphotericin, fluconazole, etc. The latter group has antiviral drugs such as zidovudine, didanosine, saquinavir, indinavir, enfuvirtide, etc.

Prevention

Till there are no effective vaccines available prevention is the best cost effective treatment available. Adherence to universal precautions meaning that every body fluid from a patient is considered to be infected from HIV until proven otherwise should be practiced. Also there are various institutions and organizations both governmental and non-governmental involved in creating awareness throughout the world.

Do you know what's special about the Xbox 360? Here are some of the features you can expect from Xbox 360:

Ring of Light and Xbox Guide Button. The ring of light is the power button and it is divided into four quadrants that can display a number of different colors depending on what is going on.

The Xbox Guide button is prominently featured on the controller as well as the Xbox 360 remote. This will allow you to instantly access information on person who just challenged you on Xbox Live. Or you can even jump right to where you can find downloadable content for the game you are currently playing. The Xbox Guide button will also allow you to turn the Xbox 360 system on and off from the comfort of your couch. That is one great idea that is has long been overdue.

Xbox Live – There will be two types of Xbox Live for the Xbox 360.

The Silver version is free. It allows you to access the Xbox Live Marketplace as well as communicate with your friends using voice chat. However, you cannot play games online.

With the Gold version of Xbox Live, you get all of the possible features. Most importantly, you can play games online. Your achievements and statistics will be stored so you can check them whenever you want. You will also be able to use video chat and video messaging. Microsoft has announced that all new Xbox 360 owners will get Gold Service feature for the first month. After that, the pricing will be similar to Xbox Live on the current Xbox.

Xbox Live Marketplace. Another great feature of Xbox 360. The marketplace is an area where you will be able to download game demos and trailers as well as new content for games such as new levels, characters, vehicles, weapons, and many others. Some things are free of charge but you will have to pay for some premium content.

Digital Entertainment. The Xbox 360 allows you to rip your music to the hard drive to be used during games. It will also stream music off of any MP3 player that you plug into the USB 2.0 ports. This is including Sony PSP.

You can also upload photos to the hard drive and share them with your friends on Xbox Live. The Xbox 360 also features DVD movies. Unlike the original Xbox, the Xbox 360 can display them in progressive scan. It seems like DVD playback will be available out of the box and will not require the purchase of an extra remote or anything. Definitely an improvement.

Personalizing your console. With the interchangeable faces of the system itself, you can change the color of your system whenever you want by simply snapping on a new face.

You do not even have to buy new faces because you could simply paint the stock face yourself. It is guaranteed that Microsoft will roll out a line of limited edition and collectible faces to lure people in, though.

You will also be able to customize the look and feel of the Xbox Guide browser on the system. Suspiciously similar to changing themes in Windows on your computer. Customization is always a good thing and while these features do not really mean anything in the long run, they certainly provide a nice change every once in awhile.

Xbox 360 and its great features are a great deal unto itself.

Basically, the hard drive is the one playing a major role in how you can use the Xbox 360. You are given the choice of saving the progress of the game on the hard drive, as well as rip your CDs to it.

You can transfer music, videos, and photos from your mp3 player or other USB devices. It will also be necessary to spend more time on Xbox Live because custom content, patches, and other downloadable content needs to be put stored somewhere and a little 64MB memory card isn’t going to cut it.

The hard drive is required for backwards compatibility. The other bonus to having such a hard drive is that loading time is faster especially in some games and other performances boosts.
